HOLY KRAP...that looks just like my car .....well maybe because it is. Seller of the car told me all the aero pieces (front lip, side skirts, rear bumperettes and wing) were by Techart but I had no way of verifying

My 944 Turbo and 996 with aerokit - both have the same-ish ground effect in the rear.

Purpose is to cause more drag???? Cosmetic I suppose but I dont know how you could mess up the OE Porsche rearend design.

Makes the car look bulky. None of those paices improve on the original look.

Parts are not made by Techart. I have the full kit on my car and it is from the factory, part of the Exclusive Option (Aerokit, Rear GT Fins).

I'm no fan of wings on the cabs (well I'm not a fan of the cabs as they look like they have a fat ***), but the lower bits were part of the "original look" from the factory if you got the aerokit option.

We got the full taco wing kit an it came with the lower rear spoilers. Don't know what they are supposed to do functionally, but after 12 years I think 996s without them look kinda silly.

Just because it was a factory option, it doesn't make it part of the original look. Option = add on.

I'm just giving him the correct info. I know what option means.

IMHO, the rear pieces look too much like an "add-on" or "after-thought" part. It does not seem to blend well with the body, especially if viewed from the rear. What possible aerodynamic benefit could the rear piece be? Im sure its not enough to matter but what is the selling point of this "option"?

I wouldn't expect Porsche to do something like that just for the look even if its effect won't be used by most drivers.

For us it was the wing and the side skirts that we liked the look of and the rear bits were just part of the package.
