Do you ever feel like an ass owning/driving a Porsche?

Driving the car makes the statement by itself, sticking on a bunch of out-of-place marque badges is the tacky aspirant part.

Was a bit shy in the first year and never advertised the fact but I am totally over that now and don't give a rat's *** what people think of me.
I always wanted one, I worked for it, and dammit I'm going to drive it proudly.

Hi, I am from Singapore, its just crazy how the prices of cars are over here. Its not good for car enthusiasts. It has also become a DREAM for many young people here to own a car as the cheapest new car will cost around USD65000.
My 1998 996 C2 cost me USD99000 2 years ago when I bought it. Have to pay a yearly road tax of USD3900. Insurance of USD3500 yearly.
Our cars needs a COE (certificate of ownership) which is only valid for 10years, after which we will need to pay (current rates USD73000 for a 3.4L car)) to the local authorities just to renew the COE to own "our" car for another 10years. I have another 5 years of validity on my COE, after which I am not sure if I will even renew the ownership with the high cost involved.
Sorry, deviated from the topic a little. Just had to rant the steam out about our transport systems here since I saw the post on my country.
Cheers
