MY new PPI superstar 2003 996 C2 lasted 30 minutes. Now it's dead. :(

That was my point. If it failed 30 minutes after purchase, I would have driven right back to dealer and asked for assistance. Im sure they would have helped. Now, who knows because this guy has screwed around, waited, asked for 50 opinions, etc. Why he would complicate this , I have no idea. Maybe you guys were right and he is just BS'ing us about this nonsense and the $4000 repair bill? I mean wtf?????

WHAT?! I bought a Porsche battery last year for my C4S Cab and recall paying well under $200 from a dealer. How much under I can't remember but I've seen them from about $150 - $200. Who is ripping you off?! If you paid $400 for an (regular OE replacement) Interstate battery you were scammed. Aftermarket batteries typically range from just under $100 - $150 depending on brand, size and where you get it.

So yes, he purchased it at a dealer - or so he says.
And weird - if he did purchase at a dealer, he should have had it towed back to the dealer to take care of it this all happened within "30 mins"
And...then of course - the photo of his avatar - it's a 996 GT2.
fishy story if you ask me.

I don't know how it is in the USA but up here in Canada where I bought my 55K miles 2004 C4S at a P dealership I had a 2500Km/1 month warranty. During that month I went back a couple of times and they replaced all the defects that I found (all minor +- 500$) .

I'm not sure how long ago this happened. The timing seems unclear. Did you have the problem on your way home or the next day? If the next day, how far do you live from your dealer?
Even if the dealer was closed I would have suggested that you have the car towed right back to them (assuming it wasn't 300 miles away). You could have then addressed the problem with them when they re-opened. You could have also called the PPI place to advise them of the issues and ask them about it. I'm not sure why you changed out the battery and started contemplating other fixes instead of just having it towed.
Also, while I don't agree with some of the more aggressive comments in this thread (coughing "Hurdi"), you haven't answered a basic reasonable question that might help us understand what you've done. Did you ever call the dealer or the PPI shop? If so, have you heard anything back from them? If so, what did they say? If you haven't called them then why the heck not?!
Some people are throwing out 30 day warranty terms like they know where you live. Unless Porsche (or your dealer) offers a warranty of some sort on its non-CPO cars (which I'm assuming your car is) you're stuck with whatever the law protects. It might be interesting to take a look at the laws in your state but, unless I missed a comment in an earlier post (which is possible), I don't think you ever provided this information.
I have a Saab in my avatar. I own a Porsche. Cut the guy some slack, geez. He posted a picture of his C2 earlier in the thread. It's about the size of a postage stamp but it still appears to be a C2...or a C2 postage stamp.

Good point I assumed he was in the states. Just wanted to point that whatever the law is where he is a P dealership won't lose its rep after a 30 min sale. Didnt want to be a smart a@@.
