Side sill/body rocker panel damage
Hi Guys,
Whilst my wife and I were having heated words in the car yesterday I lost concentration and scrapped my car over a curb in the car park!
it dented and scratched the sill at the bottom of the car.
This part is metal so I’m guessing its spot welded in place. is it easier to just cover it with a GT3 aero sill cover or get it repaired
Thanks all
Jack

nothing in life that is worth a **** is easy
bailing on the wife is not an option - till death do you part....so figure out how to live with your commitment, jump in both feet for the long haul - there are no reasons to have arguments after you get that sorted out in your head
and post pics of the car before we get into a heated argument here
and dont blame the wife (you steered the car......the driver is always the one in control)
(not saying you are having issues, and not saying you are mad at her for your driving over a curb - just saying)

It was totally my fault and nothing to do with the wife, long day / sick child / late for an appointment, life’s usual obstacles.
I was travelling at about 3mph at the time but just didn’t see the elongated curb in the car park!
Yes pics will be a massive help, I’ll put them on as soon as I get back from work.
Thanks Guys

Please keep the marrige theories to yourself and stick with only the technical stuff.

My car had similar damage to the rocker - they'll weld sticks to the spots to pull it out and then smooth it out. The one problem is, thought, that you'll have to have the entire quarter panel painted.

That damage is common and any good shop can fix it with spot welding studs and pulling out most of the dent. They might even be able to blend the area in and not paint the entire quarter panel. You want to keep the new paint area go a minimum. Over time the new paint will age differently than the rest and it will eventually start to show

Honestly so long you seal up the raw metal, it's probably the better idea. Painting the whole quarter panel for dents like that is a bit excessive.
