I had had the same "problem" before I bought my C4S. In the end, I decided the 996 was the better daily driver for me, but I WILL own a 964 at some point.

I think the 996 is a better car, but the 964 is a better Porsche.

Remember that the 993 will be worth more in the long run ... last of the air/oil cooled generation

The 964 never flat spotted a tire thanks to ABS which was a big plus. A 964 cost WAY more in consumables mostly due to the 1000lbs weight difference and higher speed straight-line speed, and far greater complexity regarding engine maintenance, rebuilds, and repairs.

The 996 has been the cheapest car to maintain, as a driver or a track car, compared to a 964. And my reference comes from when the 964's were younger cars... The 92's are 20 years old now! Yikes!
