I have been a Porsche mechanic for over 18 years and have personally owned over 10 Porsches, people like you are the ones that give Porsche owners bad names. KrazyK, who are you to tell me what is ruining my car, you must be one of those Porsche guys with the gaudy 5000 carbon fiber wing and the matching stitching on your seats

If you want a real answer to the quality of the LSD door kits, a buddy of mine put one on his show n' shine RX-8. I helped him install em, the wiring was straight forward but time consuming (extending the harness wires to the door so there's extra slack when the doors swing up). Apart from that, the kit was of good quality, stury and the doors didn't flimflam about and opened with a relatively solid feel. You'll have to unbolt the fenders and trim the inner part to give the door some clearance room...nothing visible from the outside. Self installable with a buddy, lots of heatshrink connectors for the wiring, a dremel, a socket and 2 24's.

Had to tell passengers about the doors though because they would always try to force them outward out of habit.

I see you're from Key West. The scene down there, much like the carribean (barbados, trini..even jamaica/africa) is very different than up here. The reaon you're getting ripped on so mercilessly is partially because you're putting these doors on a Porsche, but also because that style became played out quite a few years ago in North American show circles. The carribean tuners seem to still be hot for some stuff I couldn't get off my shelves if I gave it away for free. You'd be getting ripped on if it was on other car forums too.

It's your car, do with it what you will though. The LSD kits were the better designed of the kits that were being marketed.

You know you ventured into ricer territory when someone mentions the phrase "tuner scene". Sigh; I blame fast and furious.

Not my cup of tea either but with all the other questions I've seen on this forum I think your question is valid. There's a wide range of folks who read and post to the forum so any type of post comes with the risk of someone not liking someone else's taste. To each his own ..... load and go if you like 'em.

jzzzake...

To answer your question, I do not know of any suppliers and I have not installed myself.

To offer my unsolicited opinion... The ones in the photos above look utterly stupid... Much like the 5k carbon fiber wing (that probably comes in handy at US highway speeds... On US highways. I know I've always had difficulty controlling the car in that in environment).

Then again, I think Lamborghini's look... Well, utterly stupid.

I know I sound like Andy Rooney but there you go.

JKC

If you do the mods, or any other for that matter, can you post PICs? Always seems to help others look at quality or options. I know I've looked at other poster's cars and maybe didn't like the object/point of the PIC, but noticed a nice detail or comment I was able to use.
