Default CD changer help needed!

Just bought a cd changer for my 1999 996 C4. The stock radio is a CR220. I connected the three plugs from the CD changer(model CDC3), turned on the radio, moved controls to aux(there was no cd option listed) but nothing happened. Couldn't get changer to eject cartridge so I could load cd and try out. Not sure any power was going to changer....any ideas?

The cartridge should pop out when you press the button on the changer. If not then you likely do not have power. Check the fuse.

You use the "S" button to switch from radio, to CD, to CDC.

Yes...using the "s" button on radio but cd, cdc don't come up on screen, only fm, tape and aux...which fuse is the one in question?

Default CDR-220?

I don't "think" a CR-220 will support the CDC-3 CD changer. Supporting a CDC-3 changer requires either a CDR-210 or CDR-220. But contact a Becker dealer/distributor to confirm...a CR-220 might be adaptable with some modifications.

CR-220 (cassette deck) works just fine with CDC-3. You have to go into the internal menu and switch from AUX to CDC. You can't have both, just one or the other.

I never thought I would hear this in this day and age. But glad you got it to work.

It still cracks me up when I see people on the train listening to portable CD players.

Should have been more specific actually. Seller ended up sending me the changer as his ad stated the car came equipped with a cd player so it didn't cost me one thin dime.
