Why did my turn signals stop working?
On may way home last night, I noticed that my turn signals were not working correctly. I've run a search, but am not finding the same issue and am coming to you all for some insight.
Last night, when I turned on either the left or right signal, the dash indicator stayed lit. When I turned on the hazard lights on, both dash indicators would stay lit. In neither instance would the indicators blink as you would normally see. The turn signals would also stay lit and would not blink as expected. I figured (hoped) this would be something that would remedy itself once I turned the car off.
This morning, the turn signals (both sides and hazards) now blink three times slowly and then stop blinking. The turn signals also blink three times and then stop.
My car is a 2003 C2 there have been no modifications to the lights.
I'm going to check the fuses tonight when I get home, but would be interested if there are any other things you recommend checking before I take it into my indy.
Thanks for the help,
Sumner

I say this a lot and I am not saying it is a fix all. But It solved so many lighting issues for me.
There is a ground lugs located in the frunk under the carpet on the left and right side walls near the release for the headlamps. Unscrew, clean with emery paper and put back together.

I'll try the emery paper and see if that helps. I had a bunch of baseball equipment in the frunk this weekend, so something may have been knocked around. Thanks for the suggestion.
As for the middle finger...too many bicycles in SF. Don't want to run the risk of poking some hipster in the eye and the getting attacked by his fixie.

I used to use them but in South Florida that tips off the drivers behind you as to your intentions which immediately causes them to either speed up or cut you off.

Good Luck, It could be 20 different things & usually its Never the first or second or even the third one you try (at least thats always my luck) matter of fact I'm having an issue with my lights as we speak, get one fixed & then something else goes out! Lol! Since you're in S.F. you've probably heard of the Famous Bush Man haven't you!

I'm finding that out! I'm hopeful this will get resolved soon one way or the other.
The Bush Man...my wife loves taking visitors down to see him. It has always astounded me how many people come to see him.

Simple fix.. Flasher relay.. Its a three pin relay under the dash looking at you on the drivers side. Behind the ignition you will see the relay bank. A black relay. There are 12 relays but I think this is the only one under there with 3 pins. The majority are grey in color 35amp 4 pins and a couple have about 6pins and are taller.. Anyway check this out. http://www.vertexauto.com/showitem.aspx?id=216839
At least you will see the part number and could get it at Autozone. Take yours to autozone. They will check it out anyway.

Thanks guys - this is a huge help and confirms my suspicions. I had been doing some additional research and came to the same conclusion the other day. I have a new relay on order.

OK, I replaced my turn signal combo switch due to the infamous broken switch problem, only to find out that since the switch broke last fall, my turn signals and flashers no longer work. So I bought a new 3-prong flasher...now where the hell does it go? There is no 3-prong relay on the panel, and only 1 blank port. I plugged the new relay into it and...nothing. Does anyone have a diagram? I'm champing at the bit to drive this car, but I can't shouldn't without turn signals

Never mind, I figured it out. The new relay is bad! If I plug it in and then tap it, the flashers work, but they quit when I quit tapping. This after I ordered it from Pelican with express shipping so I could drive the car this weekend! Between this car and my crappy Bimmer, I can't win lately.
