Anyone see Barrett Jackson last night?
I was flipping channels and caught the end of one of Barrett Jackson's auctions and I couldn't believe an organization like Barrett Jackson made a mistake like they did.
They auctioned off what seemed to be a '99 Base Porsche 996, however the caption said 1978 Porsche 911. I think it had low mileage like 21k or some thing but even more boggling is the fact that it sold for $35k!!!! It was the earlier model with the amber front turn lenses and amber rears too. I wanna find that buyer and sell him some lake front property.

Ok, this makes sense now. Like I said I caught the tail end of the auction so was a little in the dark.

That's one guy that can say he drives a 996 and don't have any IMS issues. lol

I didn't see the show so I don't know whether it was live or a re-run, but I saw this car last January when it was sold at the Scottsdale Barrett-Jackson auction. The car was being displayed under the large tent as one of their feature cars. While it was amazing they could acutally pull off this switch for the movie, upon close inspection it was evident that the right camera angle and lighting can hide lots and lots of flaws.

It was the stunt car from Gone in 60 sconds. It was actually a 1978 911 with a 996 body on it. It was in really in rough shape when they inspected it closely. But again it was a stunt car.
