I can't lock or unlock my car for some reason on my 2004 C2.

Have you not used the car for 5 days?

Yes but it stops working all the time like that and I just have to physically unlock the door with the key then it stats working - that doesn't work now

It goes to sleep after 5 days and that's normal.
Now you may have another problem
Do you have another key that the remote works?
You may have a bad circuit board and may need a new key.
Maybe $200 for a new one. Then the Dealer will have to re-program all the keys to the car.
Try changing battery in key first
Good Luck

The remote key fob has built-in obsolescence of eight to ten years from the factory. You need new ones. (IMHO)

Did you change the battery's in the remotes?
Simplest cheapest thing to do.
