Default Club run runs into trouble...

this is incredibly lame but anyway...

http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/britis...ea-to-sky.html

the saturday morning breakfast ride has been put on hold now that theres a new sheriff patrolling the highway. i believe that this was a local tradition going back 7 years or so....
on the one hand they are being hung out to dry because they are driving porsches, but on the other hand they were speeding during the long weekend which is a no-no around here.
3 guys are in their 40's, one guy in his 20's.

whats even worse is the reader comments below the story.

As a fellow BC rennlister, I am not surprised by the sanctimonious comments from the looney left in the comments on the article. The PC police are everywhere. Hopefully, the guys weren't driving like idiots.

120 on that highway is comfortable cruising and most people who even sorta know that highway are going that speed.
i think they have rules for the ride...one of them is no passing each other. so ya, i think that they were just out for a nice ride not being d-bag pcar racers. ride was also at 630am

and this is national news! lol

Thats a sad story and feel for my fellow BC friends... Hard for the good guys to have a little good clean fun these days..
How are they able to get a reading off of all 4 cars and is nobody running jammers? Scares me a little as I have a really hard time obeying posted speeds as it seems like a walk in the park for our Autobahn Kings..

Hmmm just another enjoyment with severe consequences attached for experienced drivers..

WOW, very sad. The only thing more crazy than the week impound are the comments by the readers, who are presumably mainly BC citizens but most certainly Canadiens.

My wife and I have been thinking of taking a trip across the border to Niagara Falls(I know that is Ont whereas this road incident took place in BC), this has made up my mind for me: I will NOT be going. I like to de facto vote with my wallet.

You make me very tempted to spend my money in Ont.

I wouldn't blame the entire country of Canada on this incident. That would be like avoiding visiting New York City because someone in Los Angeles upset you.

I used to live in Niagara Falls, NY and it's beautiful in that area with lots to do. Reconsider your position because you'll miss out on one of the wonders of the world and some fun tourist stuff.

My comments were a bit tongue-in-cheek, although the reader comments were very uniform and downright scary. Of course you cannot paint the entire country of Canada in a socialistic light simply from these comments(again my comment was somewhat sarcastic) but then again...

BTW, I have been to Niagara Falls(ONT) many times and liked it. However, I am very serious about this making up my mind for me(also mikeswift's comments helped cement my opinion)...in the end though, I quess I was really looking for a reason not to go.

LOL! In that case it all makes perfect sense.

I thought it was a bit unusual that you are based in PA and hadn't been to the Falls yet. What part of the state? We lived in the eastern part of the state before and the wife's family is from north of Pittsburgh.

I live NW of Philly. Some great Pcar driving roads here in my neck of the woods.

My wife and I visited the Falls a few times when we were dating but that was before legalized gaming in Niagara Falls, Ont. My wife wants to go back but I'm less than enthused...

You must love the winters in NC compared to NF NY. Not to mention the absence of the lake effect snow. I have gone skiing in Ellicottville NY a couple of times and they really get dumped on there.

Actually Western NY is where I learned to love hockey and football so it has a special place in my heart. I was there for my early-to-mid teen years and I've gone back a few times to visit and for a class reunion since then.

I'm a military brat though so since then I've lived in Germany, Colorado, Florida, New York City, Pennsylvania, and finally now North Carolina. So bring on whatever weather you have, I've probably lived through it before!
