She's gone silver! Not done with paint yet - this is just the base-coat over which translucent layers of a burgundy candy will be laid. Note the custom script on the back that will be hidden below the candy... should be sweet! (pun intended)
If you were going to come to the EV Car show in Issaquah, WA... I'm not going to make it.
BUMMER - the candy coat went on fine yesterday, but a couple tiny repair spots from chips are slightly showing through. This means the repairs have to be redone and this will put the paint job finish two days further out.
The color looks great, just wish the few spots weren't there. ugh. At least it was caught before the clear went on.
The silver is just the BASE - the car will be a deep red/wine color, not too far off from its original, however there will be significant color change/depth depending on angle at which you view the car. It should accentuate the curves of the body more. I should have snapped a couple photos of the car with the color on this morning, but I think I was too depressed when they told me it wouldn't be ready in time :-(
Thanks for the nudge... I can't believe I didn't keep going on this thread. I've been enjoying the car for a while now... I have some video and photos from completion and will get them together and post more after the long weekend!
