Okay, so I'm the oddball here. I like to keep my cars as original as possible, so, for example, I like the orange side marker lights, etc.
I also like the look of original equipment like the radio (even though the sound quality can be dramatically improved by using aftermarket audio products). I think, too, that when selling the car, most prospective buyers appreciate original equipment fitted to the car.
So, at a minimum, I suggest keeping the original radio after you remove it and making it available to the person who buys your car.
Good luck with the new audio system...I'm sure that you'll enjoy the improved fidelity. As for me, I enjoy the music from the flat six engine!
