When it arrives I'll check it thoroughly for any indication one way or the other. The only Metra bezels I could find for sale were from UK Ebayers and I really didn't feel like dealing with an international return if I didn't like the look.
I think you will be happy. Good luck with the install.

I have this kit in my 2001 cab... it is not a Metra bezel, it is a very nice high quality plastic cut to fit with the Porsche logo added on. I believe they trim it for each type of radio you have since the fitment is very tight. Metra kits use a thin plastic bezel design were as this one is one thick piece of plastic cut to fit.

Sorry for the crappy pic but here is an in progress shot of my Euro Motorspeed kit and Pioneer budget double din (avic p1400dvd). Thanks to the great posts here I used the phone cable for switched power and it worked well. I am waiting for my amp to come in to finish up the install.

I also went with a budget amp (Alpine MRX-F65 160W x 4). Their site says this is supposed to be the affordable version of the PDX line. I don't need perfection, just aux input with sound quality at least as good as stock. We'll see soon enough!

This will be my first ever vehicle with aux input! I am so excited Finally joining the year 2000!

Looks good. Nice fit. Are you going to keep the CD Holder or delete in favor a shelf cubby?

I want to put the cubby in there but I think I need to do some dremeling to make it fit? Since I have the bose system I have had to focus on cable routing, etc for now.

Here's mine.

Just a word of caution: DO NOT use Euromotorspeed's wiring instructions. They're not even close to right (at least they weren't for my '99). When I pulled my factory radio out, it had a wiring diagram right on the top of it, making wiring the plug a snap..

Also, I don't know what unit you went with, but if it's a Pioneer, don't forget to do the emergency brake hack or your passenger won't be able to use the nav while the car's moving.

Hey ivygreen did you have to grind down some stuff to get the cubby to fit there?

I bought the correct cubby for that spot because my car had the cd holder. The Eurospeed kit came with the bezel to relocate the heater controls (without a doubt the most fun part of the job ). I taped the plugs to a piece of wire one by one to fish them down where they needed to go. Have band-aids standing by, especially if you have a light colored interior.

It should fit without any alterations since its made to replace that section. Mine just slid in perfectly.

The cubby you took out is not a plug and play piece for the lower installation. Porsche sells one that fits there. On the correct one, I had to do just a small bit of trimming of plastic to make it fit.

Just as a follow up, I did receive the kit last week (very fast shipping). The parts look to be very nice quality. The bezel is not from Metra. It looks to be a custom cut piece. I pretty much have everything mounted and ready to go other than the microphone. Hopefully I'll get that run tonight and finish things off.

I have a 2000 911 convertible.

In your pictures it looks like you have cup holders.. was that stock or add on?

Cup holders were stock in the later model 996's beginning in 02 or 03 I believe.
