Hi, i live in bangkok thailand, and looking for the daily use porsche ,which one is better,in the long run? 996 targa or 996 turbo?
If all the fast and the speed is not a big deal to me. Thanks!

If your buying a Porsche based on fuel economy you need to look at other cars.

The motor in the turbo has a long history of rock solid durability(if properly maintained) and has a long racing history.

The targa engine is strong but can have more problems than a comparative turbo engine.

It's obvious you know nothing about Porsche 996s. There is a wealth of info here, hit this forum and the 996 Turbo one and read, read, read. Search is your friend.

Strictly for practicality I'd go with a targa. You can get it wife-approved because it's a hatchback...amirite?

Turbo, The targa you not only have the Targa issue thats seems when they break they break with big cost to repair. But you also have the IMS issue. where you have none of these with the turbo and lets face it... putting your foot down on that is going to bring a smile to your face.

To me the targa is the lest desireable of the cars.

Turbo!!! Better engine, faster and the Targa is asking for roof problems. Now the best would be a Turbo Cab!!
