I have to admit I did not think about that. Last time I saw hail, there is not that much water as it is ice coming down, but the electrical connection in the 996 are quite exposed on the shelf.
There could be problem there as well, you are right.
The more I think about, the more I think it is worth the price of the engine and not that much more.
Might have to leave this to a professional dismantler indeed.

If not, I will get you my uncle's contact info and you can work directly with him. One of the race cars was used as parts for the other. Pm your info please.

Hopefully I can see the cars and make a decision on those. I'll try to get some decent picture as well and if I choose not to buy it, then Prodriver can make a decision. Hopefully we can get those babies back on track

Speed dimples.
I think the car could be a good base for a track car if you're able to do the repair work yourself. Finding a fairly inexpensive replacement hood and fenders shouldn't be too difficult and the dents on the doors and rear quarters are something you could live with if you don't care about how pretty it is. You could probably make a decent amount of money back by stripping the interior and selling off what you can. And since the front and rear glass are already out along with the interior, replacing the roof is actually a fairly simple task on these cars as far as panel replacement goes in a properly equipped body shop (also, it would mean you can ditch the sunroof as well for weight savings).
At the end of the day it really comes down to how nice you want the car to look when you're done with it and how much time/money you're willing to put into it.
If it were me, I'd say $5k or so would be the price I'd be willing to pay for it assuming the drivetrain was all there and there is no water damage to the electronics.

Paintless dent repair and a little polishing compound? ![Big Grin](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
seriously though....doesn't look like structural damage....if you can get it for the salvage buy-out it may be worth it..take off the bumpers, smooth them out, same with the hood...bondo the bodywork you can't remove, get a wrap for the car, and race the **** out of it....
