Default drift

Would you be able to make A 996C2 into a drift car? I've seen it done on a 993 GT2 on YouTube.

Yes, would it be competitive, no. Way too heavy rear, transitons are fast and hard to catch.
Good forward traction, but you need lost of speed to hold the drift.

Better build it from frontengine rwd layout.

I used RX-7 to compete in Finnish Pro Drift Association series for 5 year's

Just out of curiosity, how long does a set of rear tires last for a drift competition vehicle?

fpena944: Power and weight of the car affects on tyre wear. Usually set of reartyre's last about 10 to 15 min's on pro level car.
Track conditions affects too.

On my RX7 little longer, light car and I had only 350hp

JIC had a 996-based drift car a few seasons back, it wasn't very competitive. Rear engine cars just don't work for drifting, the handling dynamics/physics aren't right.
