hi guys
hope someone can help with this,the interior light that bolts to the windshield frame and is also the piece that the latch on the soft top locks into,well one of the nuts split open so i cant screw the bolt in on that side,so when the soft top and also my hardtop is locked in it has movement and rattles alot,the nut is inclosed in the windshield frame so there is no way to just go get a new one and put it in,any ideas?,has anyone had or seen this problem?,heres a couple of pics so you know what i mean

Wow. Not seen that before.

The only thing I can think of as a quick and dirty inexpensive fix would be to use some gorilla glue or no nails equivalent and hope it holds the screw in place.

I'm sure my rudimentary fix may get some criticism on here and rightly so
But it's all I can think of.

Not too hard to fix .Suggest you google mikesporsche boxster web pages .He has a detailed diy on fixing visor retaining nut .

Nice write up for the DIY. My center piece came loose, I think it happened over time but I just noticed it the other day when one side came completely loose. Fortunately my nuts were not split, just had to reinsert the lots and tighten them down. Not the rattles along the frame that I had been having are comp,etely gone.
