Default looking for an engine

Anyone have any suggestions for a 3.4 engine for my 996. I just blew mine up at Watkins Glen this weekend. Looking for a quality rebuilt. Or I may just part out the rest of the car.
Any help would be appreciated.

I posted a question at 6speed.
The Dyno pull was on a stand & not rear wheel HP, correct?

NO, this dyno chart shows the results of a chassis dyno test of a Duplicate engine installed in a Boxster which has more restrictive DME tuning, exhaust, intake manifold & aircleaner housing than a 996. To compensate for horsepower loss thru drivetrain to rear wheels add approx. 15% + 10% if installed in 996 chassis. Engine output is simular to a oem 996 3.6

I don't know of anyone that can dyno a M96/7 Porsche engine out of the car.
I have been to Porsche Motorsports & watched them dyno test GT3 engines, but they had zero interest in adapting the dyno for M96/7 engine testing or talking about them for that matter.

I'm going through the same process right now, and selected a builder by recommendation/reputation.

Have you diagnosed your motor? Are the crank and case (core) in good shape? Do you have a budget? Are you pressed for time?

Sorry Jake I should have known better! but you are usually quoting chassis dyno spec's & I was 20 min. late to class the 1st day & missed your shop tour.

Yep, you were late and missed a lot!

I quote chassis dyno numbers as thats the comparative with what everyone else states in reference to these engines. Here we have two engine dynes and a chassis dyno, engine dynes are generally only used for R&D where we want to reduce variables as much as possible.

To set the engine up in the test cell takes 1.5 days longer than it does to install it into a car, so its not uncommon for an engine to reside on the R&D dyno for 3-4 months at a time while we carry out development.

Yes, I'm glad you asked for clarification. The Torque produced by this engine modification is fantastic, especially with butt dyno testing!
