Estimate is around 8K subject to what they find when they start pulling it apart. I guess it could have been worse.

If the car was previously accident-free, you can recoup some funds on diminished value AFTER the car is finished.

then look to either driving it till "the wheels fall off" or sell it and upgrade..... just sayin.

FWIW, when my 00 Cab's accident estimate came in from the other guys insurance Co. ( GEICO), it was about $6500. After a teardown and further "supplemental claims", it ballooned
to $14K and change.

I expect the estimate to go up, As long as the repairs are good I will keep it for a while, I like this car and a minor accident is not a big deal to me.

Marc, That's the worst...
It always seems to happen right after a nice wax and polish... When I first took my 911 out this season I waxed it for about 3 hrs... Then I got tagged in the rear corner by a hit and run in a junker... I thought I got lucky because someone got the guys license plate... But then it turns out he didn't have any insurance... So I ended up being out about 3k after the whole fiasco, and I have an odd rattle now while in reverse idol...... I had a clean carfax, and my deductible was 2k so I just paid it myself and kept it off the books... The guy didnt even get arrested... Cops said there was no way to prove who was driving the car and it wasn't worth their time... That part was almost as bad as the accident...

-Any way I feel you pain... Hopefully it comes out looking as good as before... And drives fine... It doesn't
look to bad from the pics... Best of luck... you never know...

Well, I'm glad to hear that it's only $8K. I was afraid of frame damage and it being worse.

Hope they fix it soon!

Good, I try to always consider unscheduled maintenence as a opportunity to upgrade!

Wow...cool shot and yeah, I agree with you - keep the car so long as it looks and drives great. I've not driven a 997 yet and my car's 10 years old now but baby, I"d be pretty hard pressed to justify spending anything significant on an upgrade!

BEST of luck!!

Marc, in our neck of the woods this is nothing more than a "love tap"... non-event. fix it and forget it.

Yup, agreed. Just want her to look pretty again and I can live with it.
Not even stressing over it, but I do miss the car.
Positive side, no stone chips!

Marc, sorry about the accident but I'm sure the job will turn out pefect and the nose will look brand new again.
I recently had my car detailed and the idiot that did it burnt the paint on the drivers door. I had to get both the door and front fender painted to blend it in.
You'll have a job in front of you to clean it and remove all memories of body shop dust, it gets everywhere in every nook and cranny on the car.
Make sure they claybar and buff out the entire car because overspray will find its way onto your existing body panels.

With the nose off, it kinda reminds me of the Batmobile!

Where did you wind up bringing it Marc?
