Why do you want to switch from the RS? I'm not the greatest driver, but I can hold my. My car has all of the upgrades except for brakes. A well driven RS will spank me pretty hard.

Thank you pete I needed that. Tusler, I'm getting rid of the RS since I really dont drive it anymore. I think an rs that only sees the street is a waste . For the occasional DE's it was awesome. But now I want to start club racing and that would mean converting the car which doesnt make sense since a 997 Cup car would cost less. I'm just starting to race and I think something a little less extreme and without all that electronic assistance will help when making the move to a cup in a few years. An RS with everything shut off (which is how I drive it) still allows the driver to go a lot faster around the track than his abilities would normally allow for. I'm inspecting a so cal converted 996 race car on Monday. If all goes well I'll be racing it shortly.

HAHA Relax you may live longer.

I was in no way questioning your position as a PCA instructor, I was simple pointing out that I was quoting you and didn't want my comment to be taken as fact.

Personally, I couldn't care less if you're an instructor or not so no need to PM me your credentials.

And yes, I certainly do have issues, most of us do...

And BTW, if you 6-Speed you certainly know the search function exists so I call BS on this point...Anyway, I'm off to the 993 board to ask if anyone there knows about the top-end rebuild issue.

WOW, very classy and mature, especially coming from the person who told me to "grow up" not to mention called me a "loser". I apologize if my comments hurt your delicate feelings.

You sound like just the instructor/coach I've been looking for. I wasn't aware PCA acknowledged the ol' single digit salute as an official signal.

Easy Jumper...

Big Al will knock you out and take your lunch money. Then to add insult to injury, he'll beat your *** on the track also.

And I've got the "issues". LOL

For what it's worth Big Al - I had a PPI done by my trusted mechanic on a used 2004 cab. I decided I didn't want to worry about it, so I simply replaced the IMS with the LN model. The IMS that came out was in fair shape, couldn't really see anything wrong with it.

Don't worry about the flaming replies here. Everyone's got a right to post whatever they want - just don't take any of it to heart. We should all be here because we are fanatically interested in our P-cars. Egos and insecurities should be checked at the door.

Good luck with the track car and keep us posted on it. I'm not a tracker, but I imagine I will be eventually.

Rob

P.S. - Moderator, I suggest you leave this thread up as a model of how NOT to behave.

The racers are on Rennlist, just not for the most part on this part of Rennlist. Stop by on the Racing forum of RL, and you'll find a little less nonsense. Still some, but not as much.

Big Al, you know everything I quoted you stating above plus you are a PCA Instructor(I have no proof of this) yet somehow you do not know how to use the search function on RL.

This topic has been beaten to death, no really it has. According to the info. here on RL the 3.6 is at least as prone to the I#$% explosion as the 3.4L.(IMHO, you have ALMOST the same chance of being struck by lightning as having your I%^& detonate) Yet you start this thread by asking if the 3.6s suffer from #$^&*#@#&&&.

Mederators, quick question. Could you please HIGHLIGHT AND UNDERLINE the Admin. suggestion, at the top of the thread, to do a search before asking BS I$%^ questons!?!?!?
So Now Big Al.... Don't you think my answer was the best answer for you?...I knew as soon as you asked where this would lead.... right onto the bloody dreaded bearing again... I should have said... Either buy it or don't buy it. Thats up to you. We can't answer your question. Mine was a blunt answer but the best one so far.

Hey Dreamcarrera when are we meeting up for a meal at the smorgasburg? Should I invite Big Al hehe.. No I don't think that would be the best of ideas. It would only turn into a food fight haha.. Then he would burn you off along the 322 to add insult to injury lol. So drop me a message when you are ready. ..
