On my Turbo I like the spoiler exactly where it is!

...wrapped in a towel on a shelf in my garage.

It will find its way back on the car when it goes up for sale.

I read an article in a Porsche magazine that indicated that, in a 964, air flow to the engine increased significantly (40% or so if I remember correctly) with the spoiler extended. It obviously serves some purpose other than necessary downforce at highway speeds. Maybe someone else here read the article and can locate it; I think it was in a European Porsche magazine where it compared each generation to the new 991 and the statistic was in the paragraphs where the 964 was discussed.

Disagree. I fall under the first demographic and it is super dorky to drive around with the wing up. If the car wants the wing up, it will put it up when it feels like it.

I had no idea what a loser I was until I read this thread.

For the record, under 35, and only put it up rarely, but my wife thinks it looks better that way and I try to keep her happy. I certainly don't think it has any impact on the city driving experience.

Now if you'll excuse me, I think Ryan Seacrest is about to give away Ke$ha tickets.

There really isn't anything attractive about the rubber accordian underside of the spoiler - why show it when you don't have to?

Unless, of course, you are an *** clown!

It really isn't much of a spoiler when you really look at it. I guess from just the right angle it might look impressive but realistically, considering its length and girth, there's just not much to brag about. Even when fully extended. Maybe it's just always cold outside when I check mine out.

Gads an engine radiant heat will be able to be released faster with the spoiler up since the compartment won't be as confined. But I have no idea of considerations of 911 airflow in the compartment that deals with any ideas of cooling going on if in fact they do have it worked out to facilitate the engine exterior cooling of the compartment. But the less stuff there is in close proximity to the engine the more radiant heat it will expel.

I let the spoiler go up and down by itself - I never use the switch. I think the car looks better with the wing down.
