Hi Guys,
I'm just wondering if the 2" pipe or 1.5" pipe is better for this mod. I don't want it to sound too loud, but at the same time all the piping is 2" and would like to make the gundo hack 2" as well for equal air flow?
Would 1.5" have any restrictions?
I would like to hear from some people that did it... and if they like the mod?
Thanks,
Alin

My '02 C4S had a 1.5" Gundo hack on it when I bought it. It definitely sounds better than the stock exhaust (just a hair louder), but it wasn't enough for me, so I went with muffler bypass pipes, which were way too loud (actually, the exhaust note itself wasn't too loud, the drone in the car is what killed me), so then I went with the Fabspeed Maxflow cans, which I wish were just a hair louder, but they don't drone.
Long story short, I'd go with the 1.75" or 2" if I were to do it to my car.

I had a local shop do 1.5 piping. Personally wasn't loud enough.(this is with 200cells already in place).
I switched to fisterD's. He uses 1.75 piping. It's better. If I were to do it again, probably 2 inch.
If you don't want it too loud, I'd go with 1.75 or even 1.5

I used 2.25" pipe for my fister-like muffler modification. I got the pipe here, had a local shop cut it and weld it in. Sounds nice (video). Not too loud for me.
BTW, I did this hack as outlined in this epic thread.

I'm leaning towards the 1.75". I got a quote for $350 tax in. I'm searching videos on Youtube but I can't find any C4S's with this hack as examples...

I went for the 2.25 bypass (Blocked off muffler chamber to outlet), it is perfect, nice note on power but no way overbearing when you just want to drive on the highway. I had the same concerns as you but isnt that loud

Pull the cans yourself (very easy) and bring them to the cheapest muffler shop in the crappy part of town. Don't tell them they're off a Porsche and it'll only cost you a hundred bucks. :thumb up:
PS, Capt Obvious' car used to be mine and the hack he's referring to is the one I had done. I didn't think it droned (IMO), but he's right that the Fabspeed's sound much better. For the money, it's tough to argue with the hack.
