Same here. Took mine off and had a local muffler shop do it with 2.25 SS for $150. Absolutely not too loud (I'm 54, so my age version of not too loud, not a 22 year old ricer version ;-) )
really, it really changes the sound, to a smoother, sporty idle (stock idle is so anemic), a lot more, than louder (but it is louder) and under WOT sounds raspy and sporty, as it should, like a, well, Porsche. Nice burble when you come off the throttle. Really, just perfect, for me. The grinniest $150 mod I've done. Cans are surprisingly heavy for their size, so I imagine lighter ones would be nice.
