Default Color codes and options questions

After a discussion at last week's swap meet about what color my 996 actually is, I decided to take a look at the option sticker. Using The Essential Companion, I was able to find most of them but had a couple questions. I figured someone here would know the answers!

I did look up all the codes except for the last two.

Here is what the sticker lists:

L92M EX

XPD
226
249
288
413
424
432
437
438
446
476
490
513
537
586
601
696
938
981
983

00501 09991

1. The color code is 92M which is polar silver metallic water based paint. Is there any significance to the fact that water based paint was used vs 92E which is the same color but not water based? Or is simply which "line" my 996 was heading down for painting.

2. XPD is listed as 3 spoke wheel in leather and carbon......what carbon exactly????? I am not sure what the carbon part means.

3. The last two codes- 00501 and 9991. What do they mean? The closest I could find was 501 which was for turbo insignia-which makes no sense to me. I have no idea about 9991 unless I am just missing it in the book.

4. Finally, handwritten on the sticker were W/C with a three digit number and R/C with a 4 digit number. I am figuring that R/C is for radio code, but am not sure what W/C would stand for. Is there a three digit code required for the 996 what would match up to whatever "W/C" could stand for?

Thanks in advance everyone!

1. If you are in the US then only water based paints can used.
2. See photo below.
3. 09991 is Exclusive Manufacture - special (usually handmade) options.
4. W/C is likely wheel lock code. Each wheel lock has a code for the fitting lock key. You would need that code to replace the lock key.

Thanks Loren. The steering wheel, which I can only assume is the original, has no carbon fiber/carbon fiber look to it. Not that it matters but it is curious.

Thanks again

Looks like th original steering wheel was swapped out. You can see the color difference in the picture your took. The airbag is a different color.

The carbon fiber steering wheels are known to crack as UV tends to break the carbon down.
