Painted Turbo Twists - Yea or Nea?
I'm thinking about refinishing my 18" turbo-look wheels to repair some road rash. I'm thinking of all black, or perhaps a combination of the standard silver, with black on the inside only.
I love the look of the silver/black combination of this type of wheel, with the added bonus of not having to be too precise cleaning.
Below is a shot of the current wheel, and a bad photoshop of the same wheel with black interior.
Thoughts?

I like the idea of the black inside because I don't always have time to clean the inside of my wheels so they're dirty with brake dust anyway. A black inside would work perfectly.
If not black then maybe a pewter or dark grey finish to make the contrast not so apparent.

Maybe a darker grey would be okay. I think the black is too dark and may just look dirty from a distance. I just painted mine same color inside and out and I wish I gave the inside more coats of clear so the finish was smoother. The less smooth inside of rim gives the brake dust a surface to "grab" onto which causes faster build up.

If you are are looking for something more aggressive I'd consider gunmetal. My friend's dark blue M3 looks sooo nice with gunmetal wheels.
Cowhorn why no black? Black changes the whole attitude of the car. Not for everyone but it works surprisingly well on some pcars, especially against Iris blue. You can always change the color if you get tired of it.

Personally, I really dislike black wheels. Especially on a blue car. They make nice wheels look cheap and/or hide all of the details of the wheel design. If you want to change things up a bit, I'd go with a dark silver.

Painting the inside black is an interesting idea. I wonder if there are any real pics of cars with this done out there? I bet it would work pretty well to hide the brake dust buildup. I always clean the insides of mine and they get the worst buildup in that area.

I like the black Turbo Twists with any color car. There is a Lapis Blue 996 Cab down the street that had Black TTs, and it look great The owner didn't like them as much as I did and changed them for some very nice IForge silver wheels Everyone has individual taste
