Painted Turbo Twists - Yea or Nea?

I like the idea of painting them, however, I would go for an airbrush look and give the wheel some debth on the peaks of the spokes. A high gloss black base with gold or silver air brush highlights. Then a few coats of clear over the whole thing.

Hardback, if you got your hollow spokes for 500, then you got a deal. I looked for months and ended up with 2 sets, but they were much more than that.
Things are always expensive when you need something, but when you don't need them you can find a deal.
By the way, my wheels are always for sale, as I have a basement full (my wife says). The wheels in the pic above even come with a good set of Sumi III's if anyone is interested.

I have a dark blue 996 with black twist wheels, and I like the look. The PO had them painted black, and I like not having to clean them all the time. I get a lot of comments on them. Younger people (under 45 or so) tend to like them, and over 45 seem to prefer traditional silver/gray, but to each their own. I'm in the first category, and think they look great, and make the car a little different than other 996's. My .02.

I'm over 45, so I say keep it silver, or, darker grey/gun metal (that M3 looks sweet). Black is too dark for me, and black inside will just look like stock rims from 10 feet away, so why bother?

Or use the plasti dip stuff (www.dipyourcar.com) for a pretty nice look. I'm thinking of doing my speed yellow 996ttx50 with black turbo twists. Cheap to do, and reversible procedure.

In trying to match something is it better to be little off or be way off to a point where it looks planned? I knew I could not match the two so I went with a darker color on the caps on purpose otherwise it could / would look like a mistake.
