That's a good point. I agee with you. Love it or hate it, it represents an important part of the evolution of the 911.

The 996 should have been on the shirt. I'm not sure what those a-holes were thinking...

From the President of Central Pennsylvania PCA:

Subject: Re: Hershey Swap Meet Shirt
From: alanpozner@gmail.com

Buddy,

Take a chill pill, would ya? It's a t shirt not a manifesto

Best regards
Alan Pozner

Now we have an even clearer picture of the attitude. Pretty professional. This is certainly how I would want the President of Chesapeake to represent my Chapter.

I think he misspelled his name. It should be Alain Poseur

What did you write to him?

Although it is just a t-shirt, and I don't take it as a personal affront to my car choice, it is a horrible marketing decision.

How many 901 owners are going to buy the shirt and spend money at the event versus 996 owners who aren't?

Oh yeah, sorry. Short and not terribly sweet, but then again, I don't represent a PCA Chapter.

Mr. Pozner,

I just saw the official shirt for this year's Swap Meet. You chose to include the 901 and the 997, but not the 996? Really? Was the 901 not a Peugeot? Was the first watercooled 911 insignificant in Porsche history? Was the 997 not simply a refresh of the 996? Nice goin'.

Like I said. Poor marketing choice. I suspect you aren't the only one he has heard from.

OMG, does this mean that "THEY" think the 996 is a lowly VW? Wrong on too many levels. oh yeah, since the 996 is not a "real" Porsche....why are we still paying ridiculous Porsche mark-up for parts, etc.? Amazing how the 996 continues to get snubbed.....didn't Porsche do it too, with their rollout....the side shots of "all" the 911s, in Silver, EXCLUDING the 996, right?
So, I guess I must be content with my 996 "Volkswagen?"

Excuses:
1. We don't make the shirts.
2. Our receiving department didn't inspect the order before signing for it.
3. It seems we left a die hard air cooled employee in charge of t-shirt develpment.
4. Hello I'm your customer service located in India. How may we help you.
5. We are sorry but as soon as our new employee Ivangene we left in charge of t-shirts answers his phone we can't explain why.

No, Porsche didn't do it too. All the official 911 marketing material I've seen feature the 996 prominently. In addition to the video I posted earlier here's another one...

But i am upset that it's a 996.1!!! NO love for the 996.2!! (just kidding)

and here's the full excerpt of the other video : scroll to 1:04
