Default Best head unit for MOST bus.. Need iPhone/pod

I need to have an iPhone/iPod connector and charger 8 don't care if it's via USB or not. I did a search and learned Porsche screwed us 2003+ 996 by making MOST-bus. What's the cheapest way I can integrate it? Any $150 USB integration he's units out there that are MOST bus compatible?

Thanks!

Edit: also need it to charge and use the iPhone to control it

SubzeroX I used this Scosche IPMRDS kit. Works great and meets all of your requirements. Got mine from Crutchfield.

There is an adapter you can buy that will allow you to use the head unit of your choice with the MOST ring.

The MOST-HUR is what it's called, they have it for the Cayenne and the 997 unsure if it works on a 996.

Mark said it well. I'm not entirely sure if it works for the 996, but it might be worth investigating.

If you aren't planning to use the CD changer and you change the amp, then it may not matter anyway. The wiring for the speakers is copper even in cars with the MOST system.

I've been looking at this as well. Looks perfect for maintaining stock parts, and ease of integration. Does your stereo show song title and artist?

Did you end up ordering that part? From my research, I've heard that the sound quality of "FM Modulators" isn't all that great due to hissing noises and such. If you did order it, what is your experience?

So if I do have the Bose/MOST system, aside from that adaptor you mentioned ($650 = ouch), do I have any other plug and play choices that you are aware of where I keep the speakers and amp the same?

the new iphone is about to be released along with a new dock connector. If I were you, i'd wait it out to see what's going to happen. I know there are lots of legacy dock connector devices, and apple will likely provide an adapter, but it may be wise to wait a month or so.

Other than that, I have a Dension Gateway 500 that works great.

That new iPhone dock is gonna tick me off!

And the Dension is good, I have one in my Cayenne.

Sorry guys. For some reason I wasn't getting updates to this thread. Let me try to answer a few questions. The sound is very clear no static. The only thing is it is not as loud as a CD. It does show the title of the song on the stereo interface. The iPhone hook-up connects to the scosche unit via a plug in cable. I would assume they will have a replacement. Able for the new iPhone. I have been usin it with a 4s no problem. I have the unit plugged into a cradle and my phone mounted horizontally. Works well for tunes, gps, pandora, video. Check out my gallery for pics.
