alignment feedback
On my 2001 996 I needed to put on 4 new tires - super sports - and get an alignment. As everyone here in Nashville said the dealership was the only way to get it done right off we went. It is on the stock suspension with the factory 18 inch wheels and stock tire sizes.
I have attached the printout of the before and after - quite a change but now after 3000+ miles to get used to the new stats the car seems floaty above 60 and very nervous in fast sweeping curves that are not very smooth. It also requires active attention to keep in my lane on the fwy. This is my 3rd Porsche and it does not feel as planted as I would like.
During the alignment the tech asked if I wanted it neutral for only street use - no track or DE setup - and I said yes. It looks to me like I need to have some front toe in added so it will track straight without needing so much attention and be more stable in turns.
All ideas would be appreciated.

A little more front toe in and front camber settings that are in the green and not in the red.
The front camber graphics show the front camber settings in the red which means they are not within the optimum adjustment settings.
My experience with both my Porsches is having the pointy things right in the center of the green delivers the best road/steering feel and good (real good) tire life.
Sincerely,
Macster.

The caster readings are in the green and well within the green so they are in spec. Besides caster is not readily adjustable.
The alignment rack and its supporting computer is a wonderful shop tool. I watched a Porsche tech align my Turbo with one and the graphics display clearly showed the alignment settings. I watched as the tech brought one setting in to spec which threw another setting off a bit and then he brought the second setting into spec and went back to the 1st and so on a few times until both were spot on the money.
Sincerely,
Macster.
I am just trying to have it track straight and stay straight without constant attention. Thinking of just adding a little more toe in to the front to help stabilize the car on the fwy and on bumpy roads.
It can get to be a handful and not really enjoying the ride as I know it should be better overall. Not sure if the camber really needs to change too much, but in the green would be great overall.
