Dennis do you think the poor sound I have in my 5WS is due to running off the stock amp?

It could be... but it's hard to say. When I had mine done, I replaced the Bose amps with a new Focal 4-channel amp, so I never tried the Focal speakers with the Bose amp...

How did you configure the amp? What channels are powered etc? I want to replace my amp eventually, I got these focals and a Pioneer AVH4400 on the way. I want to mount it in the stock location so its hidden, so will need to find one with small dimensions.

Thanks for your input Dennis, you are a good bastard.

A good bastard indeed...

Sorry that i don't have more details - I paid an installer to do the job. He installed the Focal amp where the CD changer was located and he re-carpeted the frunk. It looks very good.

Looks awesome. Very stock looking at well.

Do you know if they replaced the wires from the head unit to the amp and from the amp to the speakers? Or use the stock wiring?

Hey Dennis C -
Do you recall the name of the car audio HiFi shop who performed your install? I'm working on a stealth HiFi enhancement to the old sckool 993 interior and I'm looking for an assist. Are there any high quality install Tech's around.

There once was a car audio install company (name?) on South Broadway, as far south as Littleton, CO (near the MB dealership) who did exceptional work. These guy's closed there doors around 2010 or so.

Default Porsche 996 dash speaker install

hi guys. I know this is an old post but i also have a 996 c2 coupe and im installing new speakers in the dash.

Iv put infinity ref4002cfx (45mm) deep into the dash but there is a nut on the left side stopping it from sitting flush.

Did you guys encounter this on your install? do you have any tips for moving it or shortening it a smidge?

Regards
