Default Getting behind dash

Is there an easy way to remove the A/C air snorkel that runs along the underside of the driver-side footwell so I can gain some access to the back of the dash? It's the snorkel that connects to the side a/c vents. I'd imagine removing the lower dash panel under the steering wheel would be rather difficult. There seems to be some type of loose control unit that is rattling against the back of that panel in the driver side footwell. I can feel it in there, but I don't have enough space to access it without removing the snorkel. There's a bunch of wires that's connected into this plastic box, and I'm not sure whether it's an aftermarket alarm control unit or a Porsche part.

I think I remember that tube just pulls out, you can move it to one side and it will pull out.

The snorkel does just pull out but the best way to attack it is to remove the drivers side air vent first then the flexible part of the snorkel can be compressed enough to be removed easily. This process has been documented on Renntech as you need to remove the "snorkel" to access the ignition switch which is another issue a lot of us have had to repair. All you need is a torx set for vent screws.

It compresses when you move it to the side and then just pulls out. No need to remove anything else. It takes about 2 seconds.
