Default Retro fitting heated seats?

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Porsche-996-...#ht_865wt_1270

So buy a couple of those, a couple of dash switches and you are away?

Any one done it and had any issues?

I would want to first find out if there are relays, controllers (for hi/low settings), and wiring already in place for your car, these heaters will draw some amps so the small dash switches will be insufficient to pass the amount of current drawn.

OT: BTW, did you ever get the 3 button key fob remote and able to lower your cab top with it?

I've installed in the ones in the link below in three of my vehicles, not in the any of the Porsches yet although it is on the list of things to do. I think one set has been in for 3 years or so with no issues. I prefer the dial so I can fine tune the amount of heat rather than an on/off or hi/lo/off setup.

I retro fitted heated seats in my 2000 several years ago. Here is a link to a great DIY.

There are a few differences between a Boxster and a 996, the switches and the switch location. Also note that the auction is for an insert for the back rest and does note heat the seat bottom cushion. Per the DIY you can buy the cushions with the heat mats installed in the cushions. This is what I did. The heated seats are still on of my favorite mods to my car.

If you need it I have a parts list modified for the 996.

I've got aftermarket seat heaters in my 996. It doesn't look like that's the same one I have.

I've had mine for about one year, and they work great!
