Making amends
The other car in the garage is a 1930 Model A rumble seat coupe. Probably 40 year old restoration. Runs good except for a pesky ignition problem. There is actually a "what might have been" Porsche story with it. I get to call it mine after 15 years of marriage and do all the work to keep her going but she is actually my wife's. Story is that when my wife and her first husband split up they divided the assets including some cars. She decided at the time, with two young girls, that a 356B (think it was a cab) was not the best thing to have!!!! What might have been....
The color is as another poster said, Seal Grey. It's got the uber boring all grey interior to go with it and that is something I want to spice up this spring.
As for the undercarriage, I would say I have seen better posted on this site but I am proud of the work there. Short story is its just a lot of elbow grease to get the cosmoline off. Long story is that I used everything under the sun. Used various wire brushes, plastic brushes, Dremel tool with wire brushes, plastic scrapers etc. One metal paint scraper in particular with various shapes of surfaces did a lot of the work. I tried various degreasers including the aircraft grade Simple Green
BUT, I found this stuff at Kragens called Tal Strip IIRC. **** is so toxic I cant believe they sell it in Cali but i am happy they do! I used it very sparingly and carefully in a few stubborn spot. It burns like mad if you get it on you, be warned. Made sure to keep off anything that it might melt! I also washed down anything I used it on afterward as I had no idea of its effects.
I do drive it a lot and enjoy the hell out of this car.

You cannot imagine how jealous those of us living through another typical Mid-Atlantic winter are looking at your pictures. Today started with freezing rain, then a chill rain, and later we may get thunderstorms. The potholes are just starting to open up, and will fully bloom just before the tulips. Look out below! Have fun with your ride, hope to see you some year at a Rennsport Reunion in Monterey.
I know that took a lot of time, but well worth it. Congratulations!
Now for some undercarriage shots of BB's avatar...
