Should I be putting a low temp thermostat on my popcorn maker?

Cheers, Ben

I definitely agree that a 15,000 mile interval for an oil change is crazy. I change my oil in my toyota work truck at 3000 using M1 5w-30 and it comes out so dark. 15k in a high performance sports car is just plain crazy. What about LN Engineering's recommendation of a thicker viscosity oil (I.e. 5w-40) for a healthier IMS? I'm getting pretty good proof from everyone using thicker oils.

more frequent oil changes are more important than the type of oil. I use Motul 5W40 and change it every 5k or 6 months, whichever comes first (looking like 6 months lol)

Redline 5w-40 90k miles
Installed my IMS guardian and my oil pan is clean as a whistle... Didn't have even one spot of sludge

For whats it worth, i use a cheaper oil (ELF) but change it every 5000km.

Pictures of your car are required before this goes any further.

For those of you that are proponents of shorter change periods, can you please support your assertion with some data? For example, oil analysis results that show unacceptable levels of wear materials or degradation of oil?

For this car 15K or 2 years which ever comes first. Oil analysis after every change. Never had a problem. Oil had 60% of its additives left at every drain.

3K oil changes are an urban myth.
