Default Speaker Question

Did a search, but couldn't find what I was looking for, so hopefully I can get some guidance.

Have a '99 996 with so-called hifi option, looking to replace the speakers as part of a wholesale audio upgrade. My question is about the door speakers in particular. I understand that the woofer enclosures take a 5.25" driver. The problem is finding a 3 way component set that has 5.25", 4", & 1" drivers. Almost all that I find have 6.5" drivers. What has to be done to install the 6.5" drivers in the doors? I'm assuming that I'll need to build some sort of baffle or box, but that assumption is where my knowledge ends.

TIA!

Easy swap for 6.5 woofer.Remove the existing speaker enclosure in your door and make baffle from mdf of similar to install 6.5
Not all woofers are design to perform best in sealed enclosure.
I have rainbow vanadium 3 way set in my car which getting replaced right now.if you interested pm me.

My upgrade includes 3-way speakers in the dash and a 6-1/2 inch woofer each the door. My original Bose enclosure was removed from the door and a custom mount was built for the new speaker.

FWIW, I had all the speakers in my 996 replaced with Focal Polyglass units. I'm very happy with the upgraded sound.

Thanks guys. It feels like I need to pop off the door panel and see what I need to build for a baffle, whether it needs to be sealed or ported based on the driver, and go from there. This should put me into a two or four channel amp, depending on whether I want to add a sub in the future.
