Intermittent wiper not working

Intermittent wiper not working
Hi all
A frustrating niggle with my '04 C4S - the intermittent wiper has decided recently not to work all of the time ... it will come on every now and then, and then not come on at all. I have tried various settings on the intermittent delay dial, but doesn't seem to make any difference.
Any ideas short of a trip to my friendly 'shop?
Thanks
S.

Three Wheelin'
A new delay wiper control perhaps? Very simple to replace...
99661311510A05 $48 new potentiometer w/o rain sensor @ porscheoemparts.com
or $25 used at dcauto.com...
Do you have the rain sensor option?
If you do ... could be a different problem w/rain sensor or you would need a rain sensor delay switch instead... (or maybe the sensor isn't sensing any rain cause' there is none? )
99661312710A05 $32.94 new at porscheoemparts.com

Like my brother-in-law said when I asked him to see if my turn signal is working..."It's working, no it's not, yes it is, no it's not..."

With the key out of the car, (and I guess the battery unplugged if you want to be safe) pull open the relay panel in the driver's side footwell. Look at the diagram that's on the inside of the panel to find the relay for the intermittent wiper. Pull the relay out. Get a pocket knife and scratch up the terminal posts to clean the oxide off of them and re-establish a good contact surface. Plug the relay back in.
If that doesn't work, you probably need to buy a new relay.
Oh and I almost forgot the last step. Spend the $400 you saved on a trip to the shop on beer or paypal it to knfeparty@gmail.com. (=
