Thanks DreamCarrera - luckily I am already used to not using my radio for fear that I might not hear the dreaded warning sounds of imminent catastrophic failure. I wish the PPI had not discovered the visor failure on the C4S as in this case ignorance would have been bliss. And, the 3rd party warranty company will not cover the repair. I just might park it until the guardian is available.
I checked with my local dealer after reading about all of these visor issues.
The service manager told me that visor issues seem to be most prevalent with 996's that are infrequently driven, and he recommends visor replacement if/when clutch replacement is required.
