It depends on your deductible. Accidents don't typically raise your insurance (collisions do). You can still have the shop that your insurance company pays to do the work procure the bumper of your choice (you will have to pay the difference though).

I saw some have mentioned Carfax. Some states and/or insurance companies report more than others. I have a friend who failed a emissions test in NY and that made it to Carfax. My old car was hit several times by others and I had an accident with a deer in the DC area and my Carfax report was clean (owned it for 10yrs). I'd call your insurance company to ask how or if they report to Carfax, of course call anonymously. lol

They will try to put on a repaired bumper cover or repair yours if it is just cracks.
Good luck glad you wern't hurt, but that musta scared the **** out of you.

Any Pictures?
That's the real kicker... I just bought this car back in August. My premium went through the roof, so about 5 days ago I changed my deductible from $250 to $1000. It's enough to make one start believing in kharma.

I'm pretty sure they won't be able to repair my existing cover, all of the mounts on the bottom have snapped off completely.

I have some pictures on a camera at home, I'll post some when I get home from work tonight.
