My cleaning crew was backing out of the driveway and gave me a custom fender. Photos show damage and relation of my vehicle to my house.
I have a great shop (Stoddard Porsche) for the repairs. Biggest concern is loss of value being that the car had to accidents.
I am waiting for her insurance to call me.
Thoughts? Advice?

I think you have recognized that the value of the car can change. NOw there is a carfax report on that car. To save you all the trouble down the road I will trade you straight up for my 1986 red 951.

Anyone think this accident will effect the overall value of the vehicle when selling or trading in?
My plan is to keep the pictures and copy of repair docs. This should show that it was a minor incident. Hope this helps.

If you claim it, it will show on the carfax...that will put many potential buyers off before ever asking to see the pics: contemplate a repair method that does not show on the report or when selling be right up front, post a pic in the ad stating "carfax shows 'accident on 10-xx-2011' this is a picture of the damage that was repaired and appears on the report
????
or dont sweat it and worry about it when the time comes

I bought a 996 that had been in two minor accidents similar to this one. Both were on Carfax. The PO provided a detailed description of the nature of the accidents and the invoices to show who repaired it and what was done. Given the nature of the car and its relative value (let's be honest these are not even high 5 figure cars on the resale), I would suggest that it had no impact on value and the impact on you will be negligible under faced with a really aggressive buyer who wants a perfect car (and will find something wrong with it to beat you down on price anyways).

Kudos to your temperment, as mentioned you have exhibited great self control. New fender, new paint from a dealer with high standards seems like a good match. Plenty of pics to document the repair should go a long way when you decide to resell your Porsche.

One could argue, if say you had a few (common) stone chips on your front bumper right now. After the repair the bumper will be perfect, and you cover with clear bra, that the car may now be worth more. I know, it's a stretch, but possible, and I agree with Fergus.

for the life of me I cant think of the term...but you can sue the insurance co for the amount your car is devalued due to the simple fact that it now shows as being involved in an accident - something like devaluation but thats maybe not right....
its a PITA but a few have done it
or just get it fixed and move along
