Default Constant noise in driver's door on a cab

Hi,

I bought a 2004 Turbo cab with 15,500 miles.

Great car, but it has a noise that drives me crazy. I only drive the car with the top down.

There is a noise coming out of the driver's side door. It is so loud that my passenger can hear it. Window up or down only makes a tiny difference.

It sounds like some part inside the door has tension and constantly vibrates. The vibration is amplified since the door acts pretty much like the body of guitar.

I'll take the door panel off this weekend to see what it is.

Do you guys have any ideas what I should look for? Should I use Dynomat for the inside of the door?

Thank you.

Only thing you can change for trouble shooting that I can think of is have the door locked while driving to see if the noise changes any so that it might give away that it's part of the locking mechanism.

Thank you both.

It is not loose change.

I'll try locked and unlocked to compare.

I just looked at the parts diagram for the window regulator. That could be the culprit.

One more thing to check - where the top grabs onto the windshield above the sun visors (not the center point). I had a creaking noise from the one on my passenger side because the two screws were loose. They're hidden behind a small removable piece of plastic. This probably isn't your problem, but it couldn't hurt to check.

I had this too. Try greasing the metal striker loop in the door jamb. The noise went away immediately, hasn't been back.

I have the same noise. Let us know if you figure out the issue. I only hear it over sharp bumps.

ditto on above for passenger door. It is now on my driver door, have not had time to pull off the panels.
