There is a film on my headlight lens. It looks like sun damage. I tried to compound it out, but it's still there.
Has anyone had this problem?
Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get rid of it?
It looks blotchy and bad.

I did a search and found that I can get a Mothers headlight kit that cleans them up pretty well. Should have done that first before the post. Case of premature postulation.

IIRC your headlights come with a protective coating from the factory...and "polishing" them removes that film...so they might look good for a while but will deteriorate back quickly and get worse each go around....
I suggest after polishing them to coat them with something, something to seal, protect and also enhance the clarity (notice when wet they look more clear)
there must be some sort of a clear coat available, check your local auto paint store for ideas -

The headling kits will only work if what you saw is on the outside, I see a faint pattern on the inside of the front lens on mine, it is hardly noticeable from a few feet away.
I did wet sand with 2000 grit paper and then compound it to bring back the shine in preparation to apply the Xpel film (purchased from autoanything.com for $49, good deal and free shipping), however the faint pattern is still there on the inside.

I haven't received the Xpel film yet, have to make time to go across the border to pick them up, hopefully by end of this week.
I do have Venture Shield film installed on my DD 4 years ago as part of the Clear Bra package, clarity is still excellent today with no yellowing and no peeling, I expect similar result from the Xpel film. As well, a couple of gauges on the film from road debries have convinced me it was money well spent even though it was only the thin film, the thicker Xpel should fair better.
BTW, local Xpel distributor wanted the same price for the thin 8 mil stuff as he uses a computer program and cutting machine to cut from his standard 8 mil paint protection film, the 15 mil material of the Xpel headlight film would have been $80 or more......
