The kicker was as I was walking out the service guy said he could do it for $xxxx.....xxxx was $1100 less than his own quote but still not less the place I took it too.

If you've got a sunroof, put in a carbon fibre roof, should save 50 lbs.

Does anyone sell a/c delete for 996 . What do you do about belt? Also my 2001 has a fuel cooler, I believe this is emissions related? I imagine the piping to go to the consensus up front can certainly add up.

Also Anyone have details about secondary air pump removal?

No one mentioned bypass pipes. I believe these remove about 50 pounds in rear of car, so proably help handling.

Er well maybe get rid of the stock airbox, take the windshield out and turn the cab of the car into a big airscoop feeding the intake off the cab air Well just a thought. Might get you some real psi at speed

I just dropped about 35 lbs by swapping batteries. It seems to work fine for my mostly street driven car.

To the OP, just curious why you want to reduce weight?

Do you want the power to weight ratio to be increased?

Want the car to feel more responsive and agile in the turns?

Want to be able to get lower lap times?

Better fuel economy?

Building a street sleeper or racer?

I would not use raceseat with out rollgage.
Raceseats are much stronger and if you flip the car, roof will collapse but the seat won't.

The roof option sound's intresting, that's a lot of weight saving. And becouse it's so high up in the car, you should feel the difference easily.
