Anyone w/ Seat Switch Removal DIY Photos?
Guys,
I'm in a pickle.
My passenger seat switch quit on me. It did so in a position where it is all but impossible for me to remove the torque bolts to lift the seat and pop a new switch or simply work on it comfortably.
I'm going to buy a new switch, but I need to figure out -- largely by feel -- where I need to unplug the old switch and plug in the new one.
Anyone solved a similar problem? Could use some insight or coaching.
RANT: Come on. Why can't they engineer a manual override for the electronic switches?

IIRC the seat electronics connector is mounted directly underneath the seat. You can reach it from the front.
Perhaps you could reach in from the front, disconnect the connector. Then take your new switch, plug it in or "hot wire" it in and then move the seat to where the bolts are more accessible.

Ok, started pouring through wiring diagrams and it is possible but it would be difficult.
Here might be a better option after thinking about it. Loren has a post of the seat switch cover and what it looks like, which it looks like you can remove the screw cover(s), then remove a screw(s) - then the switch panel should just pull out of the seat. From there just put in your new components, hopefully you can reach the wires or at least see what you are up against once you remove that switch panel.

You should be able to get to the seat switch panel with the door open.

You should be able to take the side panel off to get at the switch wires/connecters. This is a pic of the side of my sport seat bottom with the panel removed. Two screws and two hooks.
