Default Need help to identify this set of PSS9 - got them...

I have located a good set of pss9 for sale but hard to tell if it will fit my 2003 C2.

the sellers tells me the model number on the shocks is F4-VM3-5252-H0, but he is the son of the owner and those apparently were never installed and are kind of sitting in the garage, so I am a bit worried if the kit is complete and good for my car.

can anybody confirm based on the pics, which kit is it ?

Phil

Hey Phil

For some reason I knew you were in the hunt for a set

I checked the part numbers and seems this is the part of the REAR

Just as reference here are my part numbers for my C2

Front - F4-BM5-6804-H1
Rear - F4-VM3-5252-H1

The instruction says for Porsche C2

You need to get the numbers for the fronts. The rears for C2's and C4's are the same but the fronts are different. Also the shocks may be shared with different models while the springs are different.

argh I called Bilstein and the kit is too old and they could not verify the front shocks number. I can buy this kit for $500, I wonder if I should give it a shot just based on the look of the parts I am tempted

opinions ?

Phil
I did some research on this part # online and does not say anything about fitting other models other than a 996. Not sure if this will fit a C2 MKII.

For $500 I think its a SUPER bargain. From pics I don't see it missing any parts (I will compare to what the set I just purchased and have not installed yet). If it does not fit you can easily sell them on Ebay for even more for the right car

I say go for it man!

I have a TUV report for the PSS9 for the 996C2 from 2002 and the front shocks are VM3-5252 and the rear shocks are BM5-6803

question, how do I inspect those things when I get them ? I mean is there a way to move them around or something that will give me an idea if they are any good or if they need to be sent to bilstein for some refreshing ?

Nice of Gert to chime in.Since they look brand new and unused, why are you worried about their functioning, unless age is an issue?

yes just because they must have been sitting on a shelf for years. So I assume like all things they age over time, even when they don't get used.

Shock dyno for testing. Bilstein will refresh (revalve) for ~$65 each.
