I believe the model number is: 50-GENK41A. It's a Gentex mirror made by MITO corporation. They have other options too, such as a compass, temperature gauge, map lights, etc. I only got autodimming and homelink.

Dennis - is this the adapter for the auto-dimming mirror?

I haven't heard back from the radar-mirror folks, but I've found an alternate source for the mirrors.

The adapter I used was different. It looked like a little metal horse shoe.

Unfortunately, when I had my windshield replaced the mirror and adapter wouldn't mount properly. I think my new windshield has a different button and needs a different adapter, I just haven't looked into it yet.

Where did you find that adapter? Maybe it's the one I need now...

Found it at the aptly named autodimmingmirrors.com! Here's a link to the mirror; accessories are listed at the bottom of the page:

I'm interested in the same mod and am curious when somebody finds details on the button adapter. I have not seen any website say there is a compatible adapter for a porsche.

The adapter I originally got from www.radarmirror.com worked great until I got a new windshield...

Could the original mount on the windshield not be replaced with a new mount that works for these mirrors? That way, you don't have to worry about an adapter.

I suppose it is possible, but the new windshield comes from the factory with the button already mounted. Perhaps there's a way to remove it without damaging the windshield...

And then there is this adapter I've found (for VW/Audi/Porsche).

Scats - where did you find this adapter?

How did you wire it? Are you pulling power from the sunroof switched power or the dome lights? Or did you run a wire to the fuse box?

I ran mine to the sunroof power. I also have the new adapter and I re-mounted my mirror.

The installation was very easy, and Scott at www.radar-mirror.com was very helpful in helping me select the proper mirror and with the adapter necessary to fit it to the OEM Porsche mirror windshield button. I'm very pleased with the results. As you can see in the photo, i snapped a quick pic with my iPhone.
Dennis... What is the exact part number of the mirror and wedge? Link would be great if you know where you found it online.

IIRC, the coupes have both switched and unswitched power in the upper light console, but the cabs do not (unswitched only, I think).

I actually have one of these Gentex mirrors sitting in a box in my garage because I haven't had the nerve to try removing the original mirror. Also looks like I'd have to route switched power from someplace, probably the phone connector in the lower console.

Anyone out there who has installed one of these in a cab?
