I was filing up the C4S with gas once and a guy said: "Nice car! Is that a 944?"

Not everybody knows the details about Porsches the way we do...

Then again, who cares? not everybody is an enthusiast.

When people ask me if it's a 944, Miata, etc., etc., I just say, "Sure -- nice looking one, isn't it?"

Proper method of car washing shown here. Actually, this might be the first video of its type...

My first inclination was to correct him (and only calling him a moron in my head). I didn't because who am I to be the enforcer of the "proper Porsche ownership handbook of behavior"? After all, he might be leasing it as someone suggested.

BUT, there's no doubt the 911 is an enthusiasts' car. If you don't know what kind of engine it is, then it is likely you have it only as a status symbol, and I have a problem with that. I don't know this guy's story, but the evidence leans towards owning or leasing it as primarily a status symbol.

Mostly, I just found it amusing.

Actually, if you want to get technical you'd look to the definitions of both terms and you'd find that he was entirely inaccurate. Just sayin'

I'm sure he ended up with scratched wheels from the wheel tracks in the car wash and I can only imagine all the fine scratches in the paint from the hand drying with red shop rags. Just thought you all would appreciate this.

DO

Three of them are in line lying down. Two sets end to end would be the same It's a location issue and to this proud dork all the cylinders are in a row. Well there flat so they have to be in a row.
This isn't getting any easier for me to understand the uniquely numb spot in this guys automotive brain to make such a statement about a 911 porsche.
Aren't kids taught in school that the porsche 911 is a flat six boxer type opposing piston design automoble?:
I remember learning that at about age 7.
But weez big on curs round these ports.
