Default (Chicken) Stock?

Bored; hurricane on East keeping shops and the gym closed.
The only mod I have is my pumpkin delete. We go through this every month, but since many of you are stranded (with electricity if you're reading this today):

I'm not about to significantly mod my engine because I don't have the sophistication or funds, which I'd rather save for "errors" in the car when they happen (if), but I continue to think about smaller things like a better stereo and speakers (has Bose, but they stink); better shifter and e-brake; better and more comfortable (relatively) seats; CD "rack" delete. Issue is, I wandered to my local car club event last week where a beautiful stock 993 caught my eye. Not glamorous, just completely original interior, radio, etc.

I'm driving the car for me, not for the next seller, but there's always that nagging, leave it alone...don't change it...leave the stereo alone...who needs an iPod when you can hear the engine...etc. Are there more than two camps, and is there a middle ground on this ever-debated issue?

I wouldn't worry about it. Just do what you like because most of those mods are reversible as long as you save the old parts. I added an iPod Touch and love it.

I completely replaced the stereo system in my C4S. It's not a collector car - it's my daily driver. I'm modifying it to suit my tastes. I don't think it will seriously impact the value when I sell it.

Mod's are indeed addictive -- I went to a local car show on Friday and was just amazed how some guys must have 20+K mods/paint on car that they probably bought for $5,000. To each his own!

RE: the Bose -- has there ever been a greater delta between brand promise and brand performance than Bose audio? Not just in term of car audio -- but their whole line of products. We bought a Bose Wave -- what a disappointment. Then picked up this car with a Bose -- an even bigger disappointment

What did you put in your car as a upgrade radio. For those that have upgraded.
