Default What have they done?

I found this bill in the service records for my recently purchased 996. It sounds like the RMS repair.I know the transmission was removed. Just a seal leak?
Sometimes there's a faint oil smell(very faint) after a hard run (for me almost every run), is this normal?, I think it could just be hot p-zero fumes.

I would guess that's a warranty RMS replacement.

Yes, looks like an RMS and IMS seal.

They also checked and/or re-timed the engine.

99610421554 - checked engine timing, these are cam plugs.
99970755440 - they removed the scavenge pumps and replaced the orings, necessary when retiming

faint oil smell after running hard is a PORSCHE - you should smell that everyday

(its actually more likely to be cosmoline than oil)

not if you only smell it "once in a while" you drive a little harder more frequently you can smell that wonderful smell more...

most guys that have been around these cars for a while really love that smell and its a sign of driving it "proper" a good thing

Other great smells from the car are tires, clutch, and brakes.

I was scared to death when I kept smelling that strange burning smell every time I got out of the car when I first bought it. After reading here and seeing that burnt gunk all under the car I feel much better Smells like Porsche to me.

Cosmoline? From a Porsche? I'm used to smelling cosmo elsewhere.

Seriously though, where does one encounter cosmoline on a Porsche?

Where did you see all this burnt junk. I don't have any burnt junk on my car.
