Default Anyone with a 99 C2 have a supercharger?

Anyone with a cable driven 99 with a supercharger? The 99 C2's have the older 993 ecu's and not many are tuning them. I think I've seen a few 99's supercharged in the past using tje EVO kit which was Vf's hardware. I think EVO has stopped selling superchargers and Vf is selling directly using GIAC tuning.
I'd like some input on those with a 99 that's supercharged. Tuning etc.

1999porsche911 is pretty active over on Renntech. I don't see him here as much.

I think Mother recently got his running too.

Downside is, if you have to pass emissions, you won't be able to in most states.

i was seriously considering supercharging my 911 but decided if I'm going to put that much money into it, i might as well sell it and buy a turbo... just my opinion considering there is a forced induction alternative. Kind of reminds me of back with the non turbo Eclipse/Talon guys wanting to go turbo their existing engines...

I'm of the same opinion Philip, I would rather dump the cash into a turbo. I did seriously consider the SC at one point.

The turbo engine is certainly a better platform, and the rest of the car is already setup for it.

I would guess they still are for sale using google search. As far as the tuning I use FVD for my custom SC install which I can program from my home however they no longer support this anymore that I know of and my car is a 2000 model. I am not sure when you purchase a kit that you send them your ECU for the tune then they return it for the DIY or find a shop nearest you to do the install. As far as the emissions it is still in spec however getting past the visual inspection can be a drawback and states vary.

Thanks for the replies. A turbo will be an addition to the stable in the near future but I will be keeping the C2. Inside and out, I have it exactly the way I want it. I just need more power. I know straight line isn't everything but nowadays, it seems like everyone's faster...
The current aftermarket turbos are all for drive by wire...I don't want to be the guinea pig for the cable driven...It seems like VF kits had a few that were 99 c2's when they were sold through Evo...I'm not sure if they even have a tune now as they now use giac...I did email them but no reply yet...

the SC install is quite simple if you are a handy person, installing the injectors is prob the hardest part of the install... give GIAC a call, Im sure they have a tune for a 99.

+1, 1999porsche911 would be a good person to ask.

While your at it, also ask him what oil you should be running in your 996.

I checked with both VF-engineering and tpcracing a couple of weeks ago, I also have a 99' with DME 5.2.2

TPC (turbo)
Thank you for writing us. We make a turbo kit for the 996 3.4 with DME 7.2 electronic throttle. We can adpat this turbo kit to your DME 5.2 by installing a piggy-back computer. The silicone turbo hose which connects to the throttle body will have to be modified by your installer to fit because the throttle bodies are slight different sizes. Otherwise, the installation is the same.

VF (supercharger)

We have software for this model. We have kits in stock.
You will need to send us the ECUs which only take 1 day for us to program
